Meet the Team
Jim Bindseil is the Practice Group Leader of the firm’s Patent group, which includes patent prosecutors and patent litigators. He is a registered patent attorney and has extensive experience in telecommunications, software, medical devices, Internet, e-commerce, financial services, and mechanical technologies.
Arthur (Art) Beeman is a partner in the San Francisco office of Arent Fox where he is a member of the firm’s Complex Litigation and Intellectual Property practices. He focuses on the trial and management of complex intellectual property and commercial litigation, and has extensive experience handling matters in the telecommunications, internet, software, medical device, and construction machinery industries.
Janine Carlan, a partner at Arent Fox and a registered US patent attorney, concentrates in resolution of intellectual property disputes. Janine has extensive experience in litigating intellectual property matters involving a wide range of legal issues.
Craig Gelfound is the head of Arent Fox's Intellectual Property Group in the Los Angeles office, leading more than 30 intellectual property attorneys and legal professionals. Under Craig's leadership, the Intellectual Property Group was ranked nationally by Chambers USA in 2013 and recognized as the best in the country for client service. Additionally, Craig has been recognized by the Daily Journal as one of the Top 25 Intellectual Property attorneys in California.
JD Harriman is a partner in Arent Fox’s Los Angeles office where he is a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property group. His practice focuses on post-grant patent proceedings, patent prosecution, strategic counseling, due diligence investigations, pre-suit investigations, intellectual property litigation, and intellectual property counseling on behalf of the holders of large patent portfolios, as well as emerging growth companies.
Jonas Hodges is a partner in Arent Fox's Intellectual Property group. His practice focuses on patent law, including patent preparation, patent prosecution, and infringement and invalidity opinions, and it involves electrical, mechanical, and software technologies.
Prior to joining Arent Fox, Jonas was an associate with a boutique Southern California law firm and has worked as a patent attorney involving patent prosecution in software, electrical, and mechanical arts.
Marylee Jenkins is a partner of Arent Fox and heads the New York office’s Intellectual Property Group. Marylee focuses her practice on intellectual property matters involving computers and the Internet and counsels international companies on intellectual property disputes and strategies, portfolio enforcement and management and e-commerce and software development and protection. In addition, Marylee regularly counsels clients in the financial services, health care, medical devices, telecommunications, technology, consumer products, and business services industries.
Francisco is counsel in Arent Fox's Intellectual Property group. His practice is focused on patent prosecution in telecommunications, semiconductors, nanotechnology, electronics systems, imaging, photonics, software, and medical devices.
