Craig Gelfound is the head of Arent Fox's Intellectual Property Group in the Los Angeles office, leading more than 30 intellectual property attorneys and legal professionals. Under Craig's leadership, the Intellectual Property Group was ranked nationally by Chambers USA in 2013 and recognized as the best in the country for client service. Additionally, Craig has been recognized by the Daily Journal as one of the Top 25 Intellectual Property attorneys in California. Craig has also been recognized as an Intellectual Property "Super Lawyer" by California Super Lawyer Magazine and selected to appear in the second edition of IP Stars from Managing IP (MIP) Magazine.
Craig represents clients in connection with domestic and foreign intellectual property counseling, portfolio management, licensing and litigation. He has successfully litigated numerous matters, serving as lead counsel in cases involving patent, trademark, trade dress and copyright infringement. Craig also has significant experience in commercial transactions and litigation.
After earning a bachelor’s of science in electrical engineering, Craig worked as a design engineer in a major telecommunications company designing signal processors for military radar applications. He later served as project manager for one of the largest air traffic control radar contracts with the United States Air Force. From 1999 to 2001, Craig was a special assistant attorney general for the state of Oregon. Prior to joining Arent Fox, he was a partner in the Los Angeles office of a leading international law firm.
